Random Roads

Whenever we have a weekend to ourselves in the fall, Raimund and I generally like to go on drives and just get lost.  Sometimes we find the coolest abandoned buildings, sometimes nothing at all.  A month or so ago we went on one of those drives and came across this abandoned house.  I honestly can't even remember where the hell we found this...we ended up driving south of a town here we grew up by and just started picking random dirt roads to go down.  It was pretty interesting actually -- we drove past a "cemetery" that only had 2 tombstones in it and was fenced off.  I regret not taking a photo of it!

Raimund went inside a little ways and it looks like the house is just a big random storage building.  We didn't stay too long though...we could hear gun shots in the distance and that always makes me a bit paranoid.  Eeek.

  1. Ooh...that place looks so awesomely haunted.

  2. Wow, how cool! It's nice to have mini adventures like this - great find. I would've ran out pretty fast if I heard gunshots too, haha :)

  3. I re-iterate, you pictures are gorgeous. You capture the past and emptiness perfectly. Lovely.

P.S. gunshots would freak me out too.

  4. Yeahhhhh don't accidentally get hunted, okay?

  5. I admire how adventurous you guys are! And ok, sometimes I wonder if your own home is somehow atypical, haha. Well, the fact that you have axolotls as pets make you kind of eccentric already, in a totally cool way, eh? ;p

    Have a wonderful week, Erin!

Thanks for popping by! :D
